Sources of Creative Inspiration

Sekiro marked my introduction to FromSoftware games, a studio I was unfamiliar with at the time.

I decided to explore it based on my fondness for Japanese culture, influenced by manga and anime.

Surprisingly, I became instantly captivated by the game's aggressive and strategic gameplay.

As a longtime fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise since my childhood, Sekiro offered a refreshing and entirely novel experience. The real challenge lay in the formidable difficulty presented by various bosses, coupled with a more mature and intricate storyline

Nier: Automata has left a profound impact on me.

I deeply appreciate the finely tuned gameplay, which becomes incredibly satisfying as you master it.

However, it's the storyline that truly left a lasting impression on me.

The game introduced me to a new approach to game design. Initially, it follows a familiar pattern: completing various quests until facing a final, generic boss. Yet, a peculiar feeling of something missing emerges, questioning whether eliminating the bosses as the game instructs was the right choice.

It's at this pivotal moment that the game unveils itself, revealing that it's not yet finished, urging players to embark on Route B. It's the unique game structure, the introspection into our in-game decisions, and the unexpected twists that endeared this game to me

Much like Nier: Automata, The Last of Us has had a significant impact on me.

The intricate narrative and the poignant relationship between Ellie and Joel stand out; it is the first game that truly stirred a range of emotions within me. In most games, the protagonist is tasked with saving the world. However, The Last of Us takes a more intimate approach. I found myself indifferent to the idea of saving the world; what truly mattered to me was the connection between Joel and Ellie.

The game skillfully immersed me in their relationship, allowing me to experience joy during their moments of companionship and comprehend Joel's choices at the first game's conclusion. This emotional investment continued in the sequel, where I could feel Ellie's resentment.

Similarly, in the latest God of War, the connection between Atreus and Kratos is also what I appreciated the most.
